Yoga For Flat Abs

Even though we are headed straight for the winter months of sweater weather it is still a great time to get your core strong and toned.  Speaking from an Idaho dweller, I get that the cold, dark winter months can be tough, especially to find motivation to stay in shape! Here are a few poses to help challenge your core muscles and to be "beach ready" year round! 

PLOW: Lift Legs up and then slowly down over the head using core strength. Lift legs up and down here for extra core workout.

Coming up on the tip-toes, engaging the core, bring your knee to your elbow.

STACKED SIDE PLANK WITH DIPS: Stacking your feet, balance in side plank and then dipping the hips and side down for an extra challenge.

BOAT POSE: Balance on sit bones here while slowly raising legs and arms into a V shape. Hold as long as possible. 

BALANCING TABLE TOP CRUNCH: Beginning in Table Top, reach arm and opposite leg out. Hold here and then crunch inwards.

SUPPORTED HEAD STAND: This uses almost complete core strength. Clasp hands around head for support and slowly walk feet towards face before lifting the feet off the ground.
