SIMPLE SEA SALT SPRAY
I love salt sprays and the idea of effortless beachy hair! So I have tried many different salt sprays but have such dry hair its normally not worth the use since it leaves my hair dry and feeling gross. I decided I might as well try to make my own, because really how hard can salt spray be? Let me tell you its not hard at all and its so nice to be able to customize it to your hair's needs! Check out my recipe below for a spray that will strengthen your hair and not leave it as dry as the typical sea salt sprays do!
SIMPLE SEA SALT SPRAY
· 1/2 CUP WATER
· 1 TBS HIMILAION SALT OR SEA SALT
· 1/2 TEASPOON COCONUT OIL OR ARAGON OIL (option add a small amount of leave in conditioner)
· 5 DROPS CEDARWOOD ESSENTIAL OIL
Instructions
1. Warm water in saucepan then take off stove.
2. Add in salt and oils.
3. Stir with fork or whisk until ingredients have dissolved.
4. Wait until mostly cooled and add into spray bottle.
Additional Notes: How to Apply
Salt spray can be applied to wet or dry hair, I typically use it with dry hair though. Make sure you always shake the bottle before use. Start with spritzing hair 2-3 times on each side of your hair, making sure to not start at the roots but rather about 2 inches below. Scrunch and twist your hair with your hands. Add more spray and repeat until you have found your desired look!
I added Coconut oil to help keep my hair hydrated even with the salt that can be so drying (Aragon oil works well for this too)! If this is not enough add a bit of leave in conditioner this helps a lot. Cedarwood for the scent made since since it is great for hair, and smells amazing! Cedarwood helps to stimulate the growth of new hair, you could also add Rosemary or Lavender as these are great for your hair growth as well!
